The starting numbers are only an example. Your courier's charges, your return rate and your packing cost decide the answer, so put in your own. A call can also fix an address before the parcel leaves, which this calculator does not count.
What a return really costs
- The delivery charge for a parcel nobody paid for, and any return charge on top.
- Packing, labels and the staff time to pack it, then to unpack and check it.
- Stock that sits in transit for a week instead of being sold to someone else.
- Products that come back damaged and cannot be sold again.
The calculator counts the first two. The last two only make returns cost more.
